I was at the gym last night and was watching a pregnant woman workout on a arc trainer. She appeared to be in her third trimester. It’s great that she was exercising, but I thought it was a little strange since that particular machine causes a jarring movement. What do you think?

They are carrying another life inside of them! This life grows for 9 months causing the woman carrying the baby to grow as well. It wouldn’t matter if pregnant women ate healthy and exercised, they would still gain weight. Besides, they are supposed to gain 20-30 lbs during their pregnancy.

I’m very active and like to run and do muscle toning exercises. Is it generally okay to exercise while pregnant? I know its not going to be as strenuous as when I’m not pregnant but what are the general guidelines for a workout regimen for a pregnant woman?
