Post Tram Flap Exercises For Abdomen?

I went through a double mast. with immediate reconstruc -via tram flap. I think women should be informed that this is NOT an added benefit of a “Tummy Tuck” while undergoing a mastectomy. Whoever came up with that notion is sadly mistaken.
It looks fine when you come out of surgery, but the rectus muscle is gone making it hard to tone up the abdominal region long afterward. I do have an abdomial mesh.
I lost a great deal of weight after the surgery ( 40 Lbs) but my tummy still looks bloated ( Pot Belly) and I would like to find some exercise or something which I can tone it all up.
The missing muscle makes sit ups impossible….. Any SAFE Ideas??
