Exercises Making You Bulky??
So everybody sings the praises of the proper push up, its a great work out and move as it works all the muscles. Then why are so many women afraid to do it often – I’ve heard them say I’ll develop a big upper body, huge shoulders (deltoids) etc, and I really don’t want that to be the case.
Is that why so many women just deprive themselves of food, because working out and toning can make you a little bulky looking?! That’s not an option for me, I like food too much.
Help me out – how does one tone and get stronger without becoming bulky?
Believe me-it’s EXTREMELY hard to be bulky as a women. It’s very uncommon for a woman to develop huge muscles that resemble a mans. The women saying this are just too lazy to do it. I guess that could be a reason some deprive themselves of food, but there are other reasons too. Push ups are a great exercise. In order to get a huge upper body, you’d need to do at least 500 push ups a day for about a year. And that’s practically impossible. Just do a normal set, such as 10 push ups, rest, 10 more, rest, and 10 more. You can do all the exercises you want-they will not give you a huge bulky upper body, rather, they will give you a nice toned look.
=)
Running and swimming. Cross train with the two and you will begin to tone rapidly, but not bulk up.
You can still eat food, but just eat right. Try to cut fat intake, and divide your meals into 6 small meals per day. Eat carbs in the morning and protein at night. Drink lots of water, starting the day with atleast 16 oz. of ICE COLD water. Drinking it cold will make the body use more energy to process it.
Good luck!
