How Do I Get An “old-school” Woman’s Body?
In keeping with a typical New Year’s tradition, I really want to get into good shape w/ in a few weeks (all I need to do is tone up, not lose weight). I was walking around today & saw a bunch of 50s/60s such style posters w/ realistic looking cartoon women, & there are always pics of Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, Linda Carter, & such. Even though I wasn’t around in these eras, I miss this natural curvy hour-glass look on women!! But all you see in today’s culture is the too skinny, narrow-hip kind. My body type will never EVER get like this because I’ve always had wider hips, so I’d rather it look like the former. So, are there any specific exercises I could do in obtaining/keeping this kind of body? Also, have women’s bodies changed that much, or is that just from what we’ve seen in advertising? Just curious.
It is not that women’s bodies have changed that much, but women now are less natural than they used to be, (women in those days didn’t workout 24/7 and starve themselves like women do so much today).
To get toned up with a body like women from the 50’s and 60’s you should do basic exercises, like leg lifts, squats and pushups, (women back them just did the basics, not all the fancy pilates, yoga, and such).
Good luck and go to http:360.yahoo.com/ and get a page so we can keep up with your progress.
To tone up use light weight and high repetitions. And/or find a sport that you enjoy. the key is determination.
FWIW I find the natural curvy look very attractive. Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder…
eat up… you need to eat some foods that are going to thicken you up. bcuz the old school woman are real woman. they have curves not bones poking out skin. lol.
