Could An Almost 70-year-old Woman Do Enough Exercise And Weight-lifting To Have Unflabby Arms?
I do aerobic exercise for an hour 3 times a week and lift 5-lb. weights for 15 minutes of that, but besides having some muscle when I flex them, my upper arms are still flabby. I am 68 and reasonably fit.
If you have a lot of loose skin, you might think about having plastic surgery done to tighten it up. But I am sure that the ppl who like you already will like you with or without plastic surgery. It’s a personal choice.
hmm, i can’t answer your question, but i will direct you to two people who’ve weighed in on the issue. Best of luck!
1.) “Extra skin cannot be improved by any exercise. Only the muscle underneath the skin can be toned and may slightly improve the appearance. Young skin can shrink back some but that depends on how obese that person was in the first place. I am sad to say there is only one way to reduce excess skin and that is by surgical removal and tightening.
I know this is not what you wanted to hear but it is the honest medical fact of the situation unfortunately.”
2.) “There are two amino acids that might assist in reducing the amount of bodily slack due to dieting. Regretfully, I am able only to recall one, meantime, which is N-Acetyl Cysteine. As it is an amino acid, in order to do its specific task it requires to be taken on an empty stomach with nothing to eat for about an hour afterwards. Don’t expect an immediate impact but it might help and if it does, it could be slow at doing so. I am using it at the moment for aging-flesh and it seems to be working and restoring muscle to its more youthful-looking state. This effect happened when low-carbing which seems to have accelerated the condition but currently I am reluctant to blame it on the diet. I am sure glad to have discovered something that seems to be helping.”
Sounds like your staying healthy, regardless of flab, keep up the good work!
Generally when you hit old age, your skin starts so sag and your flab under arm also sags. There is nothing else you can do, except cosmetic sergery. And lifting 5-lb is not really lifting weights, that just a very poor exuse. Lifting around 200-lb would be better
Do you have too much skin that hangs down when you lift your arms? Or, is it extra fat?
If it is extra fat, you might want to consider that no amount of spot-reducing will work. If you have fat in your upper arms, you will have it all over your body as well, including inside your brain and heart.
How long have you been exercising? Have you been fit all your life? Or, is it that you have only been doing it for the last 5 years, or so, and are expecting too much out of your body?Talk to your doctor, especially one that specializes in your age and fitness. He or she can tell you more.
Look at this age if you try to get rid of flabby upper arm, you will not be able & even than you try the dumbling+ strait arm lift, it can proove to be fatal. Their are two ways you can zchieve this.
1. Put on some weight(Fat) till you get ridof flabby upper arm.
2. Get your skin disected, removed longitudinally and stiched with sub cutanious suture by a plastic or cosmetic surgeon.
