Yup, it is possible to lose weight and no, and, while it is an excuse to lose weight it is not a valid excuse.
FIRST – make sure that you actually have a thyroid problem. Less then 5% of the population actually has a diagnosed thyriod problem
ASSUMING that you actually do have an underactive thyroid, your doc will give you meds to regulate it – thus, no more problem
I am not sure why someone would not want to find 2 hours a week for a little exercise (3 days of 20 minute of cardio and 2 30 mintue resistance training) to increase energy and feel better or why someone would not want to eat a little better to improve the way their body runs but… If you don’t , use your thyroid as an excuse and learn to love the body that you are in

It is more difficult because the thyroid and surrounding glands have an impact on metabolism. Some people with thyroid problems actually have problems gaining weight too because it makes their metabilism too fast.
SO yes, it does make it almost impossible without medication.

no, there is medicine that you can take, talk to your doctor about it. and sometimes they can even do surgery on it so then everything you eat wont make you fat at all

It is absolutely possible to lose weight under those conditions.
Make small, gradual changes and over time, they will have an extremely powerful effect on you.
Check out http://www.ObesityKills.iConfessional.co… . The guy there is an ex-Marine, like myself, and he’s putting together a program for himself in his blog that will get him back into shape. It will work for pretty much anyone and he’s doing it all publically.
He’s not selling anything, just sharing what he’s doing as he does it. He’s hoping for encouragement and motivation from his readers.
    Hope that helps.

First off not eating right and not exercising is an excuse a thyroid problem does not prevent you from doing either.hypothyroidism results when the thyroid is underactive and produces too little thyroid hormone. This slows down the body’s metabolism thus making it harder to lose weight.
