Is This Really Necessary To Lose Weight?

Exercising for a whole hour a day? I can probably squeeze in 25-30 minutes tops daily because that is all my schedule and patience will allow. I would really hate to think that I can’t lose weight because I didn’t devote a whole hour a day to it because people say that is the time an overweight woman needs to exercise to lose weight. Is this really true?

That amount of time is fine, increase the intensity of your workout when you start to plateau. Increase time, even a bit, when that fails to produce results(may never be the case).

25- 30 minutes is a great start, and so much better than nothing. Pace yourself. Exercise is definitely beneficial in so many ways, including weight loss. However there is no set amount. Keep reminding yourself that “exercise” can be fun. Do something that you already enjoy…dancing for example. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Go for a walk with a friend. Even small changes make a difference. Keep it up. Good luck

well, exercising does help one lose weight faster, but honestly, from experience, long term diet changes create the most weight loss. i love the special K diet.
breakfast: bowl of special K cereal (measured serving size) with serving of any fruit, like berries
lunch: massive salad with chicken, or any other good sized meal involving lean protein and vegetable
dinner: special K again, like breakfast
    snack: another fruit
free snacks anytime: diet soda, sugar-free jello
….exercising does keep you healthy and raises your metabolism though, so I am not saying to not exercise. i wish I could exercise more, but i am so lazy and have no many other things to do.
winning points is also a good diet.

I am sure that even 25-30 minutes will be better than nothing. Also, that time doesn’t need to happen all at once. Go for a quick 10 minute walk. Do some strength exercises with your legs under your desk at work here and there. Just remember, if you want to lose weight, you just need to burn more calories than you are taking in so reduce some calories in your diet and try to be active and the equation always comes out with you losing weight!!!

I think that it is just healthy to exercise an hour but not everyday.
like an hour 3 times a week.
If you only have time for 30 minutes then just do as much cardio as possible in the time you have.
I dont think it will cause you to not lose weight, its not as good as doing an entire hour.

well, you know, if you do a handful of cardio and stretches ( and i mean consistently) 30 min. is good enough. but that is the #1 thing on ur list, and if u dont follow this rule, u will stay the same weight: STAY CONSISTENT. and DONT LET URSELF GET OUT OF SHAPE. not even for 3 days, no, just do as i say, and u will lose 15 lb. in about 2 months

I think if you eat healthier and drink more water along with a 25-30 min. workout you will see the weight fall off you!!!! And when you are going somewhere like the mall or grocery store take a parking spot farther from the door and walk… every bit counts!!! Good Luck with Everything!

Just do as much as you possibly can. And mean it when you do it. Like don’t do it because other people are telling you too, do it because you want to. Eventually it’ll make you feel better about yourself.

25- 30 minutes should be fine so long as you balance your diet. altough you may not see fast results, it will work. just stick to it
    good on you!

well basically the longer the better, and it really depends on how hard you are working out, but yes i would say that an hour is about right… alteast an hour
