Which Of These Options Should I Choose?

I workout by doing 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer on a moderate pace and then 30 minutes on weight machines for all major body muscles. My question is which should I do first? The elliptical or the machines? And also, what is the best time of day (morning, evening) and should I eat before I workout?
I read that it’s better to workout early in the morning on an empty stomach (except for water to prevent dehydration) so that there wouldn’t be food to burn off, but the actual fat. Also that weight training before aerobic exercise increases the metabolism throughout the day. BUT, I read contradictions to that!
I’m confused!
Remember that my goal is to burn as much fat as I can. I’m an overweight 21 year old woman.
Thanks in advance :)

You mention about a 1/2 dozen myths… Exercise when you can or prefer to. It doesn’t matter. Eat a few hours before you work out. You need energy for a good effort and if you eat too close to your exercise you will not feel well. I do cardio before weights because it warms up your body and prepares you for the weights. The other way around you would need to warm up before you lift… a waste of time is all.
Exercise does raise your metabolism, certainly not for the entire day though. And as for another myth – burning food if you eat before exercise… that’s ridiculous. You take in calories (eat) and you burn calorie (exercise) that’s it. If you burn more than you take in you lose weight. There is no magic hour, pill, facing east doesn’t help either. If you eat a healthy low cal diet and exercise you will lose weight if you need to. It’s a fact. Another fact is 99% of people can not or will not do this.

Exercising before you eat makes no sense at all – you will burn the same calories regardless, as you will still eat. Whether you burn off 100 calories worth of fat before you eat or after you eat makes no difference. Actually, studies show that eating first thing helps promote a healthy metabolism; keep in mind digestion takes energy/calories too. If you eat before you work out, you will be burning calories from the workout, but also at the same time from digestion. As for which type of exercise to do first, I don’t think it really matters, as long as you make sure to stretch/warm up well before you start.

I’d to the cardio first so it loosens up your entire body so there is less chance of pulling something. i like to workout after dinner so im not tired for the rest of the day. also gyms are less crowded then
