Does Anyone Know Any Good Exercises For A Super Plus Size Women?
I have searched the net for exercise my mother can do she weights about 600lbs and wants to lose weight her docter told her to start off slow but we are not sure what kind of exercises she can do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
‘ No rude comments about her size we are aware that she is big and we do not need any reminders’
Thanks everyone
IF SHE HAS A PROBABLY WITH WALKING AND PAIN IN HER KNEES I SUGGEST YOU GET HER 5LB WEIGHTS FOR HER TO USE THIRTY MINUTES A DAY.
THEN MAYBE SLOWLY TAKE HER OUTSIDE FOR 2 10 MINUTE WALKS 2 TIMES A WEEK. INCREASE THE TIME AS SHE GETS GER AND THE WEIGHT COMES OFF. POOL EXERCISE COULD BE ANOTHER OPTION BECAUSE IT IS LIGHT ON OUR JOINS AND EXERCISE LOTS OF PLACES.
THEN DIET IS KEY. CUT OUT ALL DRINKS WITH CALORIES. MEASURE HER PORTIONS TOO. I SAY FOCUS ON DIET WITH THE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT SHE IS CARRYING EXERCISE COULD BE TOO MUCH FOR HER IF IT HAS TO DO WITH JOGGING AND WALKING.
HER IS TO HELP WITH HER DIET.

Let her start with exercises sitting down. Get some small hand weights and let her slowly bring them up and slowly take them back down. She could try just lifting her legs straight out from the knee and slowly lowering them to the floor. Going slowly helps to strengthen the muscles. I think it is great that she is willing to try and that she has your support! She could also raise her arms above her head and slowly lower them to the right and back to center, then to the left and back to center. Just start with simple exercises and ease into different ones over time. Good Luck!!!
There are a lot sitting aerobics home exercise tapes. That’ll probably be best for her to start out with. It’ll get her heart rate up and help strengthen her muscles, so she can eventually move on to standing exercises, then maybe some walking.

Water exercise is also recommended for large people. The buoyancy you experience in the water takes the strain of off joints and ligaments, so there’s less chance of her getting hurt. She might be uncomfortable taking group classes, so you should ask about private sessions. You can do a search for aqua aerobics/water exercise instructors and facilities in your area. .Explain the situation and ask if they will be able to accommodate her. Community pools like the YMCA sometimes offer these programs, but a lot of gyms and hospitals have pool programs as well.http://aqua-maids.com/index.html
Good Luck
Your doctor should have helped your mother get started. He/she will have to monitor her heart etc. I would suggest simple activities like house work. Maybe you and your mom could walk together. If she has not walked in a while, 1/2 a block then back home. Make sure she checks her pulse. Her doctor can tell her what it should be.
Good luck and do not give up.
Lifting weights could be a good start, if she doesn’t walk well. Swimming is very low impact, and is probably the best exercise.
I wish her luck, she has a lot of work ahead of her!
Aquacise or yo-qua or whatever they call the exercise class in the pool at your local YMCA. The water will support her weight making it easier on her knees and ankles while also providing resistance.
How about starting off with some jogging and later proceed with some step-ups? Also, you can actually control her diet.
just start off with basic walks then work your way up if that is too hard try water aerobics just remember 70% of any results is due to diet
good luck
my mom is 300 lbs so I sort of share your struggle
