I’m Training For Triathlon…doing Much More Exercise Than Usual But I’m Not Looking Any More Toned?
In fact I seem to be carrying more body fat in the usual problem areas for women (abs and thighs). I’ve been conscious not to overeat and am naturally slim person…is this just part of the process?? My fitness is greatly improved and the training is otherwise going well.
could you be on? women no matter how toned they are or how much work out they do always retain water and become bloated on the days leading upto their cycle, i do jujitsu and i get the same…mums been a fitness instructor, gym instructor, massuse, life guard and has run many marathons and she is exactly the same too…

dont get paranoid…
if in doubt are you eating something you usually dont? it could be a food intolerance…like wheat…they usually make you a little bloated than usuall…
hope it helps and good luck! i really feel for you and know how strenous it can be…dont get too stressed as this can also effect our training!!!

I would of thought that most if not all of your training was endurance related rather than muscle building.Have you been doing any weight’s or just concetrating on the the swimming running & cycling.
What ever happens good luck i went to the Sherbourne half ironman with some friends a couple of years ago it was great.
You get my respect.
I’m not sure it will help you, but as part of my rehabilitation I am happy to work on your body fat.
Please.
It’s not usual as far as I know. Usually if you’re putting on weight it’s because you’re eating extra calories than you were before. Perhaps you’re not really carrying extra fat… if you are, I’d be surprised to see that with no change in diet. You should be burning more calories than before- and if you’re absolutely certain you’re not eating more- then that is strange indeed!
What training are you doing? Just the specific events disciplines (i.e. just running, swimming, cycling), or extras such as weights, cross trainer etc.? How much training are you doing?
